Take the first step to Greatness with The Premier Academy

I have been with the Group for more than 10 years and have never looked back since, experiencing horror stories early in my career but I came across Premiers Superb training and Support and it changed my life, it’s like family,  I am still the only Master’s qualified Intradermal Technician in Namibia to date and very proud of it!

*My Intradermal Cosmetics Journey with Premier Permanent South Africa*

I completed my initial Permanent Make Up Training as part of my Beauty Therapy Certification at a very reputable college in Cape Town in 2002. I was intrigued with Permanent Cosmetics, as I loved the idea of immediate results. Unfortunately, our training was lacking in many areas, so I searched to do more…

I came across a Salon offering training in Somerset West and did their Permanent Make Up (Basic & Advanced) training in 2004. I bought a new machine, needles, pigments, etc for about R10 000 plus R7500 for training.

I started working on clients in Windhoek but the results were insufficient. Clients came back with no colour, colours changed from black to blue, brown to orange, and the lines always looked blurry. I got seriously frustrated as clients returned for several touch ups and the procedures where always very painful and still I could not deliver the promised results! When I phoned/emailed my trainer in Somerset West, I was told that I had to work deeper(!) and that 3- 4 touch ups where “normal”. I could not believe this and set out again to find out more.

I came across Premier Permanent Makeup Academy website and contacted Nora Barnard in Johannesburg, explaining my situation and that I was ready to give up. She encouraged me to re-train with her and even offered me a discounted price, as I was traveling from Namibia. She did ensure me though, that I would walk away at the end of the training, feeling confident and understanding Intradermal Cosmetics in depth and having support whenever needed.

In 2006 I flew to Johannesburg, Bedfordview to Premier Permanents Academy Headquarters at the time. I was very skeptic, as I had done this already! I knew all about the skin, healing, skin types, etc, right?!? OH MY WORD WAS I MISTAKING! It was a 5-day course and only 4 other girls participated. Within the first day of training I was so furious that I had not come here in from the start!! The in-depth explanation and theory made me feel confident and I realised, why my previous work did not yield the results! The pigments, colour choice, machines and needles used where all explained and shown to us and Nora never got annoyed with ALL my questions! She answered everything in a professional, helpful and efficient manner.

We started with the practical side and Nora had to correct my bad habits several times, whilst we worked on practice skin, oranges and bananas.

When it came to working on the first clients, Nora, Maureen Lowery and Lance Barnard where looking over our shoulders, guiding us and assisting whenever needed.

At the end of the training I threw away ALL my old pigments and anesthetics (which did not work anyway!) and was confident to go home with my new machine, pigments and all supplies necessary.

Since then I have never looked back! I contacted all my previous clients and offered to re-do their Permanent Make Up one last time, free of charge. The ones that took me up on the offer where amazed at the change! They felt very little discomfort, had minimal swelling and when they contacted me after the initial healing period every single one was so happy with the results! The colour was perfect and the lines where clean and sharp!

I went back to Johannesburg, this time Drumblade, to complete my Para-Medical Training in Intradermal Cosmetics and take my USA Masters Exam, which I received in 2008. I am still the only Master’s qualified Intradermal Technician in Namibia to date and very proud of it!

Premier Permanent has from 2006 become part of my family. I have been to several Update Workshops and Nora, Bronwyn Leonard Godinho and Shari Ann Coetzer have been to Namibia to offer Workshops here as well, including training for DermaplanePro and Medical Ear Piercings. Whenever I need any help, information or just someone to listen to my business ideas, they are always available and very quick to respond!

2017 brought yet new Training and opportunities to Namibia. I was able to take part in the DermaplanePro training as well as receive my certification as a Medical Ear Piercing Instructor for Namibia.

2018 I made a few more trips to Johannesburg to dive into the world of Plasma Procedures with Cathy Racine and Nora Barnard! I fell in love with the procedures and concept from day one! This really is an answer to a lot of issues clients are facing nowadays! Again, being the only therapist in Namibia that now hold the Premier Plasma Pen Pro qualification has given me a lot of opportunities.

Anyone, who is serious about joining this industry, should really consider joining the Premier Family! Other companies have brilliant advertising strategies, cost a lot more or even a lot less, are maybe even local and offer you the world! Real life has taught me though, that they often do not deliver! (Ask many of the current Intradermal Technicians in Namibia if they feel 100% confident in their work…) Their trainers are often not fully qualified, neither as technicians, nor as instructors!

Premier really offers you the best training, pigments and supplies on the market at decent prices; immediate and professional support; regular updates; the newest and most advanced techniques and a team/family that you can count on!

Thank you, Premier Permanent, for being part of my journey!

With Love,

Anka Steinkopff
